Singapore National Day 9 Aug

August 9th, 2006 by confujinism

It was Singapore’s National Day celebration today 9th August. It’s a public holiday 0, Can I get a WHEEEEEEEE!!! It’s my first celebration & experience of a Public Holiday in Singapore since moving down here. Boy, all I can say is that the whole nation and people were out in throngs and patriotism was high in the air. Everyone was deck in their best and the nations colours Red & White……Well, Red mostly.

On Tuesday nite on the 8th, I was working late in the office (as usual). I was fortunate though this time as I was in the office to catch a quick show of fireworks coming from God knows where. It was a short and nice 10 mins spectacular display of fireworks that lit up the starry nites of the Singapore skies. Well not all of singapore, but at least the area around my office.

When I wanted to leave, I decided to take a stroll to the MRT station as opposed to my frequent travel on the FREE scheduled bus from Suntec to the City Hall MRT. Well, it wasn’t much of a hard decision to make. You see, the fucking queue for the bus was so damn long you could name a street after them people R. So it was a no brainer, walk the short distance for about 15mins. It’s good exercise so why not, right? Well i would say this time is was a 50-50 thing.

You see, the damn public holiday was right smack in the middle of the week so most people didn’t take any extra leave and couldn’t leave town (I was told that them Singaporeans love visiting their neighbour Malaysia on long holiday periods….including some weekends), so everyone was mostly out that night. It was like a freaking human jamm in every sense!!! I’ve never been bumped, elbowed, pushed, squeezed and "excuse me-ed" so many times in my life!!!

If this is just the normal route from Suntec City-City Link-City Hall MRT, I dread to think what it would be like at the other places like Orchard Road or even Clarke Quay & Boat Quay. I suddenly realised that there were actually so many people living in Singapore. Just that I have never seen ALL of them ALL at once.

Oh well, i learnt my lesson. i’ll fare better the next public holiday. Let’s hope it’s close to the end of the week, so that EVERYONE will be out of Singapore and I can enjoy some peace and tranquility while i while away my time. Having said that, all i have to show for on my first singapore public holiday is not a patriotic affair (i’m a freaking Malaysian, u see?), not a full day of activities, not a day meeting up with friends, or anything in particular at all. You see, i chose to celebrate and enjoy the day with my best hobby in the world, SLEEPING W. And mind you, i slept the whole freaking day about 15-18 hours…..ahhh ecstacy, dun u think? What better love is there then thy bed and thy pillow S.

Which bringS me now to where i am, at the fucking ungodly hour of 5am blogging about this. Why u ask? It’s coz i’ve slept too much i think, so now i’m like freaking screwed up my biological clock. So to make sure i can reset it back to sleeping at nite and staying up in the day……..i’ve got to NOT sleep until the end of the day (hopefully i’ll last that long) so that i’ll tire myself up to sleep like a log later tonite. Ahhh the wonders of dreamland awaits me.

However, for now my eyes are tiring and I’ll just catch a quick 40-winks. Ciao!

HAPPY NATIONAL DAY & HAPPY 41st BIRTHDAY TO SINGAPORE!!!

Cravings and Hunger Pangs

July 23rd, 2006 by confujinism

I can’t sleep as usual. It’s freaking Sunday….oops i meant it’s Monday 3AM….I’m online and with wide eyes. Can anybody just punch me out or at least enuff to knock me to dreamland??

If there was an opening for the "real" BATMAN, guess I’ll be a sure winner to qualify into at least the quarter-finals. Why don’t I have the confidence in winning it? Simple, I’m not buff at all, I’m also not a billionaire, my heart is also not dark and merciless. Therefore, I won’t be qualified enuff to be the Dark Knight. Oh yeah that and also there is no such place as "Gotham City". There’s only Gopeng and Gombak…….which are dark and quite crime infested as well.

So if I can’t be the Dark Knight…..maybe I’ll just be the Dark Child. Roaming the streets at night with my fiery steel red eyes (bloodshot from not enuff sleep) looking to satify my hunger. A hunger that is so great that this whole island of Singapore would never satisfy.

What hunger could be so great?

What hunger could drive a creature into the dark depths of insanity?

What hunger could keep one searching and searching till satisfaction is achieved?

What else if not the hunger and craving for a certain food?……..Duhhhh, what the hell you guys were thinking?

Just because I added a little dramatic suspense in the dialogue dun mean I started worshipping the devil…..On another hand who says I haven’t eh? Only those out there will know for sure. I’m not known to be a devilish person or nick as a devil for nothing you know! It takes a real student of the devil to be able to embody the self-absorbing insanity of evil as it burns thru your heart & veins. Once it takes over, there is no escape. Only way is to take control and let it out once in a while….just to have some fun that’s all.

I’m crapping again ain’t i? Damn…..gotta get rid of that habit……..hit me baby one more time??

Anyway, I can’t sleep and currently having vivid images and cravings for some lovely deeeeeelicious M’sian dishes. What’s got my mind cooking instead of me? Well, it’s a dreamy BIG plate of Char Koay Teow with lotsa spicy chilli, humongous prawns, big ass juicy cockles (see hamm for those who dunno), slices of lap cheong (pork sausages), and lotsa fried pork lard (bak eww). Well since after craving for that I also bloody crave for a great BIG bowl of Asam Laksa with plenty of mint leaves, sliced fish, onions, chilli padi, and lastly, the black prawn paste (Haeh Khoh).

OOooooooo weeeeeeee, Yuuuuuuuummmmm, Yuuuuummmmmm, yummy man…..just by writing this post, my damn keyboard’s wet from all the drool that is dripping down my mouth. It’s even more then when i drool over pictures of lovely babes. Guess food still takes priority over gals for me 0. No offence to all the beautiful hunnies out there.

Oh hell, I’m just gonna get to bed and use that damn hunger and craving to project a mental image of the food in my dreams. Who knows? Maybe if I dream of it hard enuff, I might actually wake up to find a plate of either one waiting for me in the morning. Now wouldn’t that be a feat? Materialising your dreams into reality. If I succeed, I’ll tell you all about it. But then again, if I do succeed, won’t it be better if I just dream for Jessica Alba or even Kate Beckinsale? Dream really really hard for it. Heck, if it dun happen, at least something else turns hard S.

Signing off with a dreamy plate of Char koay teow………literally.

New Catch Phrase

July 21st, 2006 by confujinism

I was having lunch with my colleagues the other day and from that day onwards, it has changed many things in life (sounds dramatic, ain’t it?…..just for effect only).

I’ve been given a catch phrase which will stick with me synonymous from now on. What’s the wonderful catch phrase u ask? It’s "Shut up & Eat it!"

Alot has to come in before i can elaborate but the summarized short version is that I eat a lot, I enjoy my food, I dun let food go to waste, I also like to chit chat and bitch about work during lunch…..Thus, I somehow end up eating slower then people sometimes (mind you not all the time) ……… for that I’ve been labelled with that catch phrase. P

I guess I kinda deserved it and actually dun mind it. My next resolution is to eat faster, lesser, and shut up Y

Actually there’s more to it. But that’s a story for another day. For now, I have my dear friend & colleague, Nop to thank. His creativity & imagination knows no boundaries. You go Nop! 0

New Blog style……..waddaya think?

July 21st, 2006 by confujinism

I’ve come to think I’ve got too much shit to pen in my post. I notice that the post get’s outta hand and ends up long winded, yikes.

Dunno if it does do any good or atleast entertain you peeps. Nevertheless, I SHALL continue to blog. A promise I hope to dear god that i can still keep at it till I’m old and wrinkly. Then again, I might not have the endurance to blog on and on and on and on and on (I’m not the Duracell Bunny u see? neither would shoving a couple of super size Duracell up my arse help!) but I will do my best. These days technology is simply amazing, I can use voice recognition software to type my blogs. However, my vision of the future technology when I’m old & wrinkly and still trying to blog would entail the capability to conceptualise your very thoughts directly into the Computer. Wouldn’t that be cool?

I can see now the Tagline for the technology, "Imagination is the product of creativity, You Think It…….We’ll Digitize It. THaT’s IT!"

I’ll patent it by calling the THink and Type Imagination Technology (THaT’s IT)…….just incase you do decide to make it a reality, i only ask for 1% royalties paid annually. Thanks J

Enuff, i’m getting outta hand again. SHIT! So to the point, I’m gonna try a new blogging style.

  • fuck care with the exact english language grammar and shit
  • gonna use more slang and short texts like enuff, wat, muthafucka, dun, gonna……… Ah hell, u all get the idea
  • gonna be short and simple to the point for the post
  • less colour, more content

So I’m hoping this will help me pen more shit in less time. It’s like a synergy-zen kinda thing, where in actual the whole of 2 parts is bigger than the sum "1+1=3".

So chew on that crazy shit for a moment and tell me what you think.

I’m getting dizzy……….oh shit, it’s 4AM go figure……..nite nite peeps

Nothing but memories………and a Head Butt

July 17th, 2006 by confujinism

The world cup came and went, it was a full month of ecstasy, joy, disappointment, upsets, celebrations, suprises, curses, shrieks, and many more.

This post was suppose to come earlier, but I guess with the Worldcup, everything just got halted and being on the Asian continent, the matches were played live in the night and wee early mornings. Let’s give a round of applause for the late night eateries, pubs and mamaks that have shown those live matches.

Having said that the 4 years once event of Football fever is actually not quite true. Football fever is all year round and occasional spike every 2 years. You see, although the Worldcup & Eurocup is once every 4 years. There is a 2 year gap between both so every 2 years the football fever is on a high. This is on top of the normal football leagues……. English Premier League, Italian Serie A, German Bundesliga, Spanish league, and others.

So what have we learned and remembered from this 2006 World Cup in Germany?

  • England can still play football but nevertheless they still suck (mind you I’m being a England fan too)
  • Brazil is not almighty, they can be beaten. It’s football….things happen
  • Argentina is still a strong contender as ever
  • Australia has done good and shocked the world
  • Germany played well but could have done better. Klinsmann did well with the team. Why the hell didn’t Schneider played like he did in the 3rd-4th placing matches during the damn semi-finals. The fire was there but a little too late.
  • We bid farewell to one of the great goal-keepers around. Oliver Kahn of Germany. Jens Lehmann was excellent through out the matches. His saves in the penalty shoout out with Argentina was amazing.
  • Spain sizzled but yet couldn’t fire up.
  • Italy did a few Italian-jobs (must be the mafia & bookies influence on the referees). The penalty against Australia at the ending seconds on the game, the 2 goals against Germany in the final moments as well and the infamous idiotic-fucked up asshole named Marco Materazzi with his foul-mouthed "cibaikia" insults. They may have won the cup but it’s just not honourable in my mind.
  • Portugal showed why were in the semifinals, C.Ronaldo is a fucked up asshole (I’m referring to the incident where he reacted against fellow MU, England’s Wayne Rooney’s foul). He had to get his nose in there and nudge the situation. Very uncalled for, plus the many simulation dives that he took which later replayed in slow motion…..was NOTHING.
  • The French was a suprise beating Brazil plus making it to the finals. They may have lost but only one thing people will remember, yeah the infamous ‘head-butt’ incident by Zidane. We all could fault him for his actions. But nevertheless, he was insulted and provoked. By any means it does warrant action. However the choice of action taken was just wrong. We may sympathise, and forgive but never will we forget. You have etched your memory deep in football history. The first ever player to head-butt his opponent and be sent off in the final moments of the Worldcup finals and still be awarded the Golden Ball. It’s almost as controversial as Maradona’s legendary "Hand of God".
  • Korea & Japan did pretty well in the group stages but was not consistent. They failed to provide any real contention. Guess they are only good on home grown eh?

We saw alot of simulated diving in this round of world cup. Many also faked injuries. There were also mistakes by referees as well. Some games saw lots of aggresive challenge and some just saw lots of offsides. Never the less many matches were well entertaining and managed to have everyone glued to their seats and TV for at least a minimum of 100 minutes. We also see lots of real supporters and those that just support. Yeah you know who you people are. Then there are those that watch the games for the cute guys. OMG, it’s the faggots and the girls that really are just dumb sometimes. No offence intended. Lastly, it’s those that bet of the games. They support Argentina like hell but behind the scenes, they bet on Germany to win. I don’t know if they are traitors or smart people :)

Now that it’s over. There is nothing to unite the world once again…..until the Eurocup 2008 and Worldcup 2010. By then, the zombie-panda-eyed employees will resurface again. For now we will rest in the shadows.

As it came to an end on 9th July 2006 in Berlin. The final parting words were

Auf Wiedersehen Germany - Wamkelekele eMzansi Africa

INSOMNIA is an addiction

July 4th, 2006 by confujinism

I’m awake and it’s freaking 3AM……nothing to do but sleep? while others find that easy it’s rather the contrary for me. Why is it that some people can just fall asleep as easy as 1,2,3….while others need to take in some reading, others need to watch TV or listen to music, and to some extend….some will find Sex as the ultimate sleeping pill (beats taking drugs while enjoying the pleasure ;)).

Some fall asleep as soon as their heads hit the sack, literally. Sadly, I’m not one of those people. For me sleep is like a fishing game, sometimes i get a big one (a good nite’s snooze), sometimes i get a little one (1-2 hours), mostly i get average ones (snooze-wake-snooze-wake-snooze). I’m not boring you to sleep here am I? If I am, voila, you just found another alternative to help you fall asleep.

The average person was said to require a minimum of 8 hours of sleep to awake fresh and recharged. Well I’m not sure about that, there have been cases where I’m awake for 48 hours yet still able to function as fresh as a baked bun the very next day after just a 6 hours of sleep. I guess it all boils down to how long you spent being in Rapid Eye Movement (R.E.M.) stage of sleep. R.E.M here does not refer to the band, rather the deep sleep stage where we are in dream stage. Some reach that stage easily, some sleep all night without even reaching that stage, hence no dreams.

I’m here to actually find out why people find it hard to sleep. In medical terms, it’s suffering from insomnia. Some say it’s a disease, but i think in my case it’s actually an addiction. What? Yup, you heard me right, an ADDICTION. Why would anyone be addicted to not going to sleep? Easy, I like the night. It’s cooling, serene, calm, and have lots of suprises.

Let’s try examine my crazy rational here for a moment.

  • Night is naturally more cooling as the hot sun is not shining
  • Night is when the moonlight shines with a calming breeze
  • Night is when the twinkling stars come out to play
  • Night is more calm as the hustle bustle of the city life is gone
  • Streetlights light up buildings and brings about a different perspective on the very same building, often giving it some "life"
  • Night is when the great primetime TV shows & comedies come on.
  • Not to mention, there are also those R-rated PG movies too ;p
  • If you do have a balcony, spend sometime sitting around with the lights turned out and watch as the night takes on a life of it’s own. Just observe your neighbours, you’ll suprise yourself.
  • Work sometimes get easily done at night because there is no one to disturb.
  • Night is also when you get to spend time with your loved ones….husband/wife, girlfriend/boyfriend, children/family, and also friends.

Feel free to debunk the logic but i think this also why lotsa people are getting less sleep these days. It’s becoming an addiction to NOT go to sleep. Weird but nevertheless quite true.

A round of drinks and cheers for all those that are Imsoniac sufferers as well as addicts ;)

Another Day…..Another One bites the Dust

June 13th, 2006 by confujinism

It’s just another lousy day I guess. Why? coz it’s the weekday. Actually nowadays it seems like everyday is sorta-kinda-lousy-damnish-stoopid-way is a crappy day. Wonder what the hell changed my preception of the world with it’s bright sunshine in the sky, lovely morning breeze, birds chirping, and all those lovey-dovey-peaceful stuff……turned into a gloomy, dark, cloudy, wet and moody kinda day. It use to be good while it lasted…..now it’s all gone….sounds corny but hell it’s the truth.

I think I pinpointed what the hell is bugging me…….it’s this damn lousy back-ache that’s been making me feel crappy all the time. It’s as though i’ve been stabbed….literally in my lower lumbar region. While some of you wise ass cracks that it might be from too much sex & shagging non-stop (which is quite a feat that I would like to keep a tight lip about, eh ;) ) I can dispel all that off in one brush of a hand. Why so confident and innocent? Simple…..I ain’t been getting any honey if you know what I mean? And NO i have not been keeping myself busy playing "pass the sausage" with my own hands….I am a healthy hetero-male but nonetheless i’m not a damn sexed up perv that is so damn desperate……….Not yet though :p

Anyway, back to the damn back pain near my waist….I’m thinking of having it checked out, but the darn thing has like a tempermental side to itself. It’s painful in the morning, which just spoils the rest of my mood for the day. It’s also painful after lunch…just about when you’re building momentum to keep working to avoid felling sleepy and get caught with your pants down…..ummm I meant get caught catching a 40-wink in the office. Lastly, it’ll act up again in the late nights…thus giving me a hard time trying to get some very much needed shuteye and rest. So, I just don’t know how to go see a doctor and tell him ….. "Doc, ummmm I kinda have this tempremental back-ache that’s bugging me when it feels crappy….thus making me feel crappy too". Which doc would just even take you seriously on that note? Next thing he might be telling you "Oh, it’s simple, we just gotta cut you open and straighten your spine & back, that’s all". I’m sure he is joking while telling you that with a very straight face…………darn fucker must be trying to hold his laughter in for pulling that kinda joke on you………next you know……you’ll hear a silent hissing fart sound. Why? Coz the asshole was trying hard to hold back his laughter…..it seeps thru the cracks of his fat ass……Voila! the release of silent gas from the ass. (hey, that rhymes!)

Anyway, after much deliberation, I did see a doctor for treatment. Nothing to it he say. Just didn’t sleep well enough thats all. I was like Duhhh…i got a back pain doc, of course I cant sleep well. Now fix me! He gave me some pain-killers and some other medication i can’t even remember what. I think it was only the damn pain-killers that helped. Just hope that I don’t get addicted to them…..else you’ll see me be walking around town with a bleeding hand/toe/finger/ear….what ever cut and not feel it even. Yikes! that’s damn scary….it’s like a dead Zombie that’s alive! (wait, a zombie IS a dead person, so does that make a dead Zombie an alive one? And if it’s alive then an alive dead zombie is really a dead one? ….. fuck it’s confusing even to me, the ConfuJINism Master) I think the drugs are slowly rotting my mind. I think I’m really losing it. Let me rest & recuperate….My brain cells need to grow back.

Oh hell, there goes the wasted mind of another brilliant "would be"…..What are "would be"s? ……These are people that could have/would have been something/someone special which would have made an impact on life & history. It’s like the answers to all of the BIG "IF" questions.

Another day………Another "would be" bites the dust………slowly we become inundated with swarms of idiots…….sigh

Return of the Blogger

June 12th, 2006 by confujinism

It’s been a long hiatus break for me………..my last post was in Feb 2006…..almost 3 months.
I have said that blogging is only for those with thoughts to pen and share……..while others just blog for the sake of blogging.
It’s hard work and takes passion, dedication as well as a good grasp of the communication medium, namely English.

Well, enough of that crap…………..got that out of my system……and now on to Business.
What’s important? Well nothing in fact just that

I’m BACK, BACK, BACK, BACK…………………BACK!!!

I’m FREAKING BACK……………It’s been awhile and I hope I have more fresh ideas now that I’m in a new country with fresh new environment, surroundings and what’s more…………..New Babes……..grrrrrrr, Just Kidding……but new & diverse people.

You all must be wondering what’s been up with the ConfuJINism Master after a hiatus of 3 months? Well here is a brief timeline of stuff that went on……..I’ll try to blog on a few interesting ones. Don’t worry, you’ll know what and where and how with who plus why ;p

  • After CNY 2006, the annual relatives meet up…….I kinda felt the nostalgia that envelops everyone ones in a while has more to it than we give credit to. The ties of a family is nothing to be taken lightly.
  • I turned down the MNC offer to work in singapore at the eleventh hour….and thus have sealed my future fate with that MNC……successfully committed so called "career suicide"
  • Transfer offer to Singapore office ………. Ultimatum given…….decision made………consequences…….well duhh…here I am aren’t I??
  • But before that, April was a not all turmoil and confusion…….Had a great opportunity to travel to the States. Went to Hollywood, Los Angeles with my colleague, Andrew. Took in the sites…Hollywood boulevard, Kodak theater, Gruman’s Chinese theater, the Hollywood sign (from afar), and  spent an entire day at Universal Studios. Not to mentioned we stop over at Hong Kong Kai Tak International airport prior.
  • Actually, Hollywood was just a short stop, the appetizer. The real meat was Las Vegas for a whole week. Yup you read it right…….Las Vegas babe…….the sinful city. I’ll try my best to blog alittle about both the trips. Needless to say it was AWESOME!
  • The timeline within my return from US and my departure for Singapore was like just 5 days to pack and make arrangements. That was a hectic schedule……….I loved it :)
  • Within a week arriving in Singapore, I found myself back in Malaysia for a well deserved R&R……the trip that the gang has been looking forward to since the day we planned it. Where & What am I talking about? It was Bangkok in May 2006…………the result? it was a trip that WILL go down in our gang’s history books………more to come I assure you and the gang reading this. I realise that it don’t matter where the place……..it’s the company that counts.
  • Well the month of May came & went by with nothing estatic happening except that the single Biggest news that changed my life is about to change it again. What could be more bigger than me having to move down to Singapore? Well, the new boss will be leaving us for a better offer. I was like OMG……here I was just slowly getting accustom to my new surrondings….and wham, it gets shook up by a tsunami of sorts.
  • Early June came & I was back once again for another important day……My Bee’s birthday. Well I had been looking forward to this as I had thought of the perfect gift plus it also helps that I was missing her so much…. it’s like an icy dagger slicing through my soul. I had the perfect gift (I meant I hope I did). So? what is this so-called perfect gift? It was a 0.21ct 3 diamond ring. Many of you might refute me and say that it was nothing. Given the circumstances, I still hold my ground and say it is. There’s always the saying that "Diamonds are a girl’s best friend" and that cliche "Diamonds are forever". Don’t misunderstood the gesture, it was meant as a birthday gift…….and purely at that, nothing more.

In a brief nutshell…..that kinda covers the important events for the last 3 months. Now it’s June…….only one things matters…..all the way till 9 July 2006.

It’s WORLDWIDE FOOTBALL FEVER…….It’s the 2006 WORLD CUP in Germany……….Joga Bonito

My Haunting Fate………..It Comes, It Comes

February 23rd, 2006 by confujinism

This post was kinda late and sitting in my draft so now that I have some time to squeeze…..I’ll complete it and post it.

At the time of this post was written, I was in a dilemma. I’m one that is quite determined, in control and hardly gets into much of a dilemma, so when I do hit one…rest assured it’s definitely a serious one.

What on earth you ask that could possibly give mua, the ConfuJINism master a dilemma? Well it’s all about work…….Work? You all must be thinking…sheeeessh, that’s lame…..Well, right and not quite right.
You see, recently the new boss had a revealation of sorts that she wants to consolidate the team all together and have a lovey-dovey….happy-noisy-bustling working team that’s also just a spanking hand away from here. Well it makes sense in a business kinda way.

So on with the dilemma, the new boss wants to consolidate, …. yada…..yada….yada….so she gave us an offer to transfer/relocate to the Roooarring, Lion City of Singapore.
There’s only 2 of us in the team in PJ, me & Agnel. So there, the offer was on the table……..it was more like an ultimatum…..move your ass to kiasu land or get your ass out. In my terms it was SHIP OFF or SHIP OUT.

It was a hard decision for me to make. It was an opportunity I had always wanted, but when it came……I got stumped with butterflies in my stomach. Moving down would mean a HUGE change in my life and everything. I had to find a way to make the payments on my condo and my car and the rest of the loans. Plus I have to get use to taking public transport ….. no more car to zip around. I’m not sure about the ciggies and alchohol there….but I think it might also be expensive. Another sin to drop I guess. Also I gotta learn to start fending for myself AGAIN.
Ultimately, Guess what I will miss most is my dearest and also the gang of friends.

Some say "you can always make new friends" ……..let’s just hope that’s the case. Are Singaporeans friendly people? I like to hope so :)

I had numerous sleepless nights to think about the offer. I thought I had avoided having to go down Singapore to work when I turned down an earlier offer by another prominent MNC at the very last minute (Suffice to say that I had kinda commited career suicide with the other MNC). I had reached a stage in my life that I realised I wanted to grow with a certain company and Symantec was one that I was confident would allow me to grow. Never did I see this crossroad coming.

Well looks like I can’t avoid my haunting fate………turn down one and another creeps up……it’s like cutting the head off the legendary Hydra.

Think it’s time I gotta take my own advise I gave on my last post

More updates to come later.

Gong Xi AFTERMATH…………..Valentine’s Propaganda

February 16th, 2006 by confujinism

Shit, i just realised that I had this darn post sitting in my draft …….. it happens…..especially when you try to blog in between time (like lunch/tea/some boring training) and then pause to continue. Your train of thought will then likely go blank for a while and reload for a moment……. kinda like a tape or CD ……you FastForward or Rewind to the tracks you want or skip what ever songs you don’t like.

The only difference is that there are no buttons to hit/tap/click/press to activate the function. It’ll be kinda weird if you suddenly find that certain sequence of actions on your face/head activates various functions of your brain.

Perhaps then you’ll see people …………..

  • tugging their left ears to fastforward memories and tugging the right to rewind.
  • blinking their left eye to increase volume and right eye to reduce. Double blinking to activate Stereo Surround Sound
  • digging their right nostril for increase in Bass and the left nostril to reduce it.
  • sticking their tongue out for more reception.

So don’t be alarm the next time you see a guy on the street or in the LRT that’s continously tugging at his left & right ears and then subsequently blinking his left & right eyes while digging his nose and sticking out his tongue………. Don’t worry, he is not having a spasm attack or even nutty………. He’s just trying to replay his memories :p
Hell, you might even be doing it yourself………..try it………in the confines of your own room of course.

Hmmmmm, ok I think that little intro got a little sidetrack from the blog topic. Anyway here it IS………..i meant WAS…….what was previously written.

With Chinese new year heading to and end…..the glorious 15 days will be once again celebrated across the nation in style. How so you might wanna ask? well the typical celebration for 15th day or last day of CNY is to cook a nice meal with the family, eat and chat and laugh, then sit back relax, have a couple of beers/wine/liquor….what ever tickles your fancy…..then watch the TV or just pop in a VCD/DVD for all to watch…….come midnight just wish everyone "Chap Goh Meh" and be done……bye bye and goodnight.

Nahhhh………nothing like that man……..over here in Malaysia………..we celebrate it big time just like the eve of CNY. Yeah, you guys know what it’s like………… it’s like an event by itself. Why? simple……we celebrate the beginning and ending of all good things. Plus the last day is also known as "Chap Goh Meh"…….from the Hokkien dialect for "15th night". Coincidently, it is also known as the Chinese Valentine.

Three things are apparent on that day/night.

  • There will be a few people getting married on that auspicious day.
  • There will be loads of people hovering a a nearby park with a pond/lake or some will go to the river/beach. Why?? it is like a traditional custom (don’t ask me from when) that most of the single ladies would gather and throw oranges into the pond/lake/river/ocean and make a wish. It’s to celebrate the chinese valentine’s day with the hopes of finding happiness and a potential partner/suitor next year. Yeah, yeah, yeah I know…..it sounds corny and weird but hey……..it has evolve into a full fledge event every year. This time around, the oranges that are thrown were found to have name & phone numbers written on them.

So if you single guys are still without a match and actively looking………make your way to the nearest pond/lake/river/beach for this annual orange throwing event :) I think you’ll get more numbers then hitting up girls in clubs and calling up numbers found scribbled in toilet cubicles (usually done by fuck heads bored while busy doing their "business"). However, the downside is that you’ll not get to see their faces before hitting them up. But then again if you’re gonna be one of those type of assholes that think beauty is far more important than character…….well I won’t argue……….it’s your preference.

As this post is gonna coincide with Valentine’s day………….I think I’ll just wish all lovebirds out there
A HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY…………..wish you all happiness with your loved ones and memories to cherish forever.

If your single then……….no sweat……….your time will come, your partner will soon be found…….. and when it does happen…………your world is gonna rock…………for SURE.

As for me, I don’t believe in Valentine’s day………….it was to celebrate the death of St. Valentine but evolved into a commercialised event…………with overprice cut-throat profits for organisations. For me, if you love someone, it is for everyday and forever…………and NOT just for ONE exceptional day. But then again, that’s just me (a practical cheapskate) ………..if you’ve got money to burn and your lady doesn’t find NOT receiving a bouquet of flowers/chocolate/cuddly cute stuff, NOT going out for a lavish overprice couple’s dinner, and NOT celebrating Valentine’s is just not FUNNY (plus, likely you won’t be getting any TLC that night)…….then I guess by all means……….GO AHEAD :)

Oh yeah the other sure 3rd thing that happens on Chap Goh Meh is always the FIREWORKS………yup……..ban it all you want………complain all you like……….it’s been there always, will be there always and gonna be there…………..like it or not…………it’s to STAY!!!

So it’ll be a noisy night…………with all the BANG-BOOM-POP going around………..good luck getting a good night’s rest.
