Knowledge for the restless soul

I’ve been reading quite a fair bit since I’ve moved to Singapore (that’s almost 21 months ago) I would consider it a healthy habit. After all knowledge is gold….only if you apply it. In retrospect, I read -YES, just like the rest of most MRT dependent Singaporeans - that’s how we kill time. It’s way better than staring the other person blankly in each other’s face early in the morning or late in the evening. It’s also I’m a cheapo and suck at console games that’s why I don’t own or plan to own a Sony PSP or Nintendo DS. I’ll stick to my trusty iPAQ which has minimal buttons and works great with just the stylus.

Don’t even get me started with all the fucking corny insinuating jokes about the stylus, about playing games with sticks, little sticks like stylus…stuff you can do with just poke, tap, point & play…..the list goes on.

My soul is a restless one and reading eases it’s constant thirst for information & knowledge. However I kinda don’t see it that way coz I’ve been reading - YES, but nearly not enough - YES, plus I’ve also been reading more on fiction. Unless fictional knowledge can be ultimately applied to give us an edge over the next fellow man……well then I guess I’m on the right track, else I’m just screwed.

Right now I’m reading Tom Clancy’s Net Force - Springboard. It’s about war on the cyber frontier. This time it’s US being attacked by the Chinese (at least up to where I’ve read so far) or it could be another faction of the Chinese govt.
Haven’t finish it yet coz I’m a book slut and also reading another book, Robert Ludlum’s The Ambler Warning. It’s also another great story about a top secret spy agent escapes from a secure mental facility and finds his very existence erased….or is he going mad? He sets out to find the truth.

Anyhow, reading is fun and a great habit to cultivate. So the next time I blog, it might be on a book review :)
