A Hunting we will go….for Treasure….not Animals

Friday, July 29th, 2005

It’s another Friday and things are looking up. Weekend is just around and I’ve got a packed schedule. Not that it’s about fun but it’s stuff i gotta do. Yeah you all know….STUFF….all of us have it….and we still gotta do it. For me this time it’s brand new tyres for my car. I’m looking for a good deal on Goodyear Eagle F1 205/55/R16 or 205/50/R16. Anybody know where is a good place to get them??

I’ve been scouring all around for contacts and friends that might be interested to join my group of friends on a Treasure Hunt (not the Indiana Jones or National Treasure movie type of hunt) it’s more the motor hunt type. This time it’s the Philips All Xcess Challenge 2005 to Penang on the 13th August. We were able to muster 2 teams (4 each team) but now just lack of another person to complete our tag team hunt group. So if anyone out there reading this post…..please gimme me a holler @ 0166099929 or drop me a mail by Saturday latest as the closing is on Monday 1st August (now u see why i’m stressed out??) I JUST NEED ANOTHER PERSON!!!!

For those that are new to Treasure Hunting (again I reiterate…it’s the motor hunt type and not the actual "TREASURE") it’s rather fun and exciting. It helps to stimulate your mind juices and also observation skills of things in your surroundings. On top of that it also builds character and fosters team building spirit. I’m an avid hunter and thru all the hunts, I have gotten more experiences as well as known many other individuals that are exceptional. (Oh yeah that means you get to mix and make new friends). Other variations of hunts are walk-a-hunt (similar to a motor hunt but it’s mostly walking around) and the latest is a virtual hunt (for those lazy to move and just hunt from their PCs).

Anyway, I’m looking forward to the hunt and by golly we WILL win something (prizes are till 40th placing afterall). So tonite it’s off to the pool clubs for a game or two and drinks……CHEERS to all and have a great weekend ahead.

Back in the Saddle

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

I’m back in the saddle and riding high and mighty again (well not that mighty anyway…still got some juice in me). Sydney was a blast, a tremendous great trip and overall FUN, FUN, FUN. The bizness was done and the fun followed. For an Out-of-Towner in Sydney, I gotta say that the city, buildings, scenic sights, people, cars, and animals ………. just took my breath away. I didn’t wanna come home (for awhile though…..then reality seep back in my veins). Felt a little melancholic….just a little…..but I bounce right out of it as soon as I realised that I have only so little time to do OHH so much. (cliche: So little time, so much to do)

It seem like whenever we head off for a vacation/holiday….somehow we, I meant ME would end up even more tired than before I left. How and why is this so? I’ve notice that it’s because we (I meant ME again, oops) travel to another land/country/place and often I pack my schedule to the max trying to fit in all activities like shopping (trying to get the best bargains and value for $$$), sight-seeing (there is always just TOO many….TOO BLOODY MANY….trust me), taking photoes (duhhh goes without saying right), meeting with friends/relatives (that’s if there are…else skip it), tasting all the various food (ahh this is my favorite…especially if there are exotic stuffs), and on top of all that I try to visit the clubs at nite to check out the scene and chicks there (this is a definite……sad to say this trip didn’t though).

So while trying to fit ALL THAT……. in such a short span of time, I tend to rush thru everything (shopping, sight-seeing, heck even the eating part was rushed). To top it all off…..I didn’t have a car so moving around in Sydney was limited to 2 options: WALKING (cheapest and also best way to take in the sights & people) and PUBLIC TRANSPORT (buses/trains here were way cooler and people were civic minded…i can actually CROSS at the ZEBRA CROSSING imagine that!!!……a WELCOME change from the rude/senseless Malaysians). Other options was Taxi or rent a car. I didn’t opt for it as budget was a limitation (if it weren’t then I would be spending even more time there. SHIT, the AUD is about 3x of MYR). Oh yeah back to what I was saying……So while rushing thru most of everything and walking 95% of the time (while in the city area) I end up exhausted and tired in the nite. If that’s not enought to kill me, all the walking and head turning (looking at sights…..mind you….what were you thinking?) gave me aches all over (from neck, back…right up to the feet). I thought a good nite’s rest would be enuff and do me good. The thing is Sydney (GMT +10) is 2hr ahead of Malaysian time (GMT +8) and me being quite a nite bird found it hard to sleep. (heck, everything was akward with the timezone and my biological clock was kinda screwed up….waking up at 5am, lunch at 10am and dinner at 5pm…sleeping at 8am……screwy, screwy shit man) It didn’t help much with the Winter cold and freezing nites……I think at a point I was like totally lethargic and zombified. Word of advice…..ADAPT FAST…ELSE SUFFER :p

I’ll blog in more details about the Sydney trip in my next blog.

All in all……I would rate my trip this time as a 75% success coz I manage to take in loads of sights and throughly experience winter (never did say i enjoyed it….just experience). Can’t expect much when you throw a tropical guy into the freezing cold. I’m now eager to see spring & summer in other places.

Ahhh…..time to save and plan……hmmm spring break in US and summer in UK??

Any takers?

Four Seasons

Wednesday, July 13th, 2005

***Sorry for not blogging on a regular basis…it’s been a hell of a week….lotsa stuff and still feeling some afterSyioks of the merger and other stuff***

No I’m not referring to the Hotel or the latest dishes at any of our Chinese restaurants. (Not that I mind…ooo yummy yummy glorious FOOD…excuse me while i salivate for a moment :p brb…..) I’m actually referring to the four seasons or climate that we Malaysians unfortunately don’t get to experience.

It’s a four different climate that cycles thru the year. Each lasting about 3 months or so (remember your math…12 into 4 equals 3!!! if ya don’t then forget it….u shouldn’t be here now) where there is Summer (where it’s hot…and associated with bikini’s, thongs :D and sun everywhere), then it’s Autumn (where the heat lets off a little and the leaves drop and animals prepare to go into hibernation (meaning long long long sleep…ahh wish I could hibernate too) as they prepare for the Winter which comes right after. Winter is the extreme opposite of Summer …. ones’ hot and the other is cold (this is when u see, feel & touch SNOW….something we tropical countries will never-ever-ever see unless we get hit with a freak snow storm). This season is associated with snow, snowman, snowball fights, skiing, ice-skating, and hot choco with yummy yummy marshmallows (excuse me while I go make a cup….though the wheater is hot here :p ……..it’s hot choco!!! Y-U-M-M-Y!!!!). After winter, the next best season is Spring. Ahhhh the melting snow, the sounds of birds chirping, colourful flowers blooming all over…it’s as though you were in lovers wonderland and everything all around is just Happy, Joy, and Wonderful (i’m over exaggerating here).

After that it’s back to Summer then Autumn then Winter then Spring….the cycle continues…. (i really dun want to get into the finer details of how the seasons come about…as it’s quite technical and saintific with stuff like the sun’s orbit and other mumbo jumbo)

Fact of the matter is I’m going to Sydney, Australia this weekend for a whole week (Dun get envious..it’s partly bizness & partly holiday). And I’m excited as this is my first ever visit to Australia…..However, it’s freaking winter!!! Although I never experience it…I’m sorta looking forward to it as well as worried (so I’ve got mixed feelings about this)…The idea of feeling cold all the time as well as wrapping yourself up like Kenny (from Southpark) and speak in an ancient muffled language. The only thing I’m praying hard is that my dick don’t freeze in the cold…….hard it’s ok just don’t freeze stiff :p

So since it’s a Friday today and I won’t be blogging the whole of next week (gimme a break will ya…I need it badly) I like to wish all a great weekend and have fun a long as it’s safe ;)

Oh yeah, and if any of you got advise for my coming winter experience…let me know will ya, thanks.

Chill out & Relax

Friday, July 8th, 2005

On a lighter note it’s a FRIDAY after all, so go out and chill with your buddies. Have a beer or two (I would say more is better :p after all it’s a refreshing elixir)….give a toast or two to the good things in life like nice looking babes, hot figure mamasitas, vavavoom chicsLOL!!! and also the other little stuffs.

Others can just pray for the victims of the London bomb blast. I’ll not post further on it or about work as it has been a hectic and chaotic last 2 weeks for me as my company was going thru a merger….now that it’s official…..I guess it’s sort of a brand new start.

Remember, FRIDAYS are GOOD but SATURDAYS are BETTER ;) enjoy ya weekends guys & gals :D

London Bomb Blast OMG

Friday, July 8th, 2005

07072005 London was attacked!!! It first came to me as a shock….heard the news and started surfing all the news site for more info. This was BIG news and right after London was announced as the winner to host the 2012 Olympics (They pipped Paris). As I read thru the details of the bombings, it brings back memories of the 9/11 tragedy.

It just goes to show that terrorism is still very much a big threat to all our well-being no matter where we are. More so if we are living/working in the many developed and western countries that have often on many occasions participated in anti-terrorism activities. Usually these are the countries with a strong military force as well as money politics. I do not condone what these terrorist have done, but looking back at the past….if seen with a critical mind, these terrorist were once allies of US & UK for covert operations in the middle eastern countries.

How could friends become enemies? that’s a question best answered by the respective parties. Most important is WHY? that seems to be a elusive quest for the truth that we, the rest of the world WILL NEVER KNOW…

Innocent as we are….these attacks has provoked the world to once again be on the defensive alert and for travelling people, it’s going to mean longer queues at the airport, tighter security checks, and if these aren’t enough to wear you down, then the constant worry of being in danger should (then again, we get that everyday don’t we?)

In my humblest opinion, there is every bit a chance for peace…but unlikely for everyone in the world (Call me a pessimist or whatever, but the concept of good & evil, yin-yang…..sets the precendence for my beliefs that there needs to be balance and thus peace will never be an absolute….just relative NOT absolute)

Even if by some miracle, we the people of this great green-blue,3rd planet from the Sun (Remember 3rd rock from the Sun??) are able to have peace and all live with a common goal…..I guess then that would be a time when we face a new enemy……a new threat…..one from the unknown!!! (another species from outerspace perhaps??)

How else then would you explain it when we see it (like so so so many hundred times) in the movies, that mankind ALL-AT-ONCE miraculously come together to fight for a common cause….S-U-R-V-I-V-A-L !!! if you are really unsure then please refer to movies like Independence Day, Armageddon, Deep Impact, The Day After Tommorow, and the lastest release The War of The Worlds. In all these movies, the theme is the same…..humanity unites to fight for their survival!!!

This also reaffirms my earlier belief that peace is just relative not absolute.

I’m getting sidetrack here, this post was meant to convey my condolences to the families of the dead and injured in the London Bomb Blast as well as those around the world that have fallen victim to Terrorism. Although Peace is still far away (and still is relative), it’s still a milestone worth achieving. One milestone at a time to get there….we’ll take these threats one at a time…and for this time…..IT’s TERRORISM!!!

SiCkLyYYyy fRiDaYyyyYY :(

Friday, July 1st, 2005

Hi all,

Yup, it’s another weekend and I must say it’s coming along great….with exceptions to this damn bloody flu that has attacked me (mysteriously) since Wednesday. It’s progressing (that’s bad…real bad) from just a mild sorethroat & flu to a full blown DISEASE…I’m now down with a flu, cough, fever, running nose (no jokes about me having to catch my nose ok?), and top it all up with a bodyache all over. Trust me when I say that a person with running nose (constantly stuffing my face with tissues) sneezing wildly and coughing up a chunk of phlegm every now and then IS NOT i repeat IS NOT A SIGHT YOU WANNA SEE!!!

I’ve had invites to go clubbing tonite, another for yumcha/drinks (pubbing lar), watch movies (Batman Begins or War of the Worlds?? hmmm)…..and loads more. Unfortunately for me, the damn flu made me had to push all those lovely invites away (it was a decision made with a heavy heart…..HOW can i pass up opportunity to mingle & rub posteriors with babes????). Believe me when I say i rather be home in bed then in clubs dancing like a dead cow (do they even dance??).

Oh well I can’t have fun doesn’t mean you guys and gals out there can’t as well. So go on have a couple of drinks, make plans to go clubbing or pubbing or whatever you people do best :) if your boss is picking on your ass then just FUCK IT!!! man…….it’s not like you gonna see his face for the next 2 days??

Have a great weekend ahead while I re-cuperate…something in me tells me I’ll be up & about by Saturday….Ready to P-A-R-T-Y!!!!!!
